After defeating Canada in their third match by a score of 2-1, Morocco clinched first place in their group and earned automatic advancement to the knockout stage of the competition. The competition was held at the Al Thumama Stadium on 1 December 9.00 pm. Matches of this magnitude are significant for Morocco. They must have known that they had to win the match in order to keep their hopes alive of competing further in the FIFA World Cup, and in the end, they were victorious and moved on to the next round of the competition. It was a sad setback for Canada and its supporters since their side was lost in a manner that was extremely humiliating, and the stadium was crowded with people from both countries. During this World Cup, they were unable to win even a single match, and the only goal they managed to score in their final encounter of the group stage was a own goal, which was done by Morocco. Morocco’s fans took great pride in seeing their team dominate the competition and proceed to the knockout stage, which resulted in the stadium being full with the roar of Morocco’s loyal supporters.

During the course of this match, Canada controlled possession of the ball 59% of the time, while Morocco possessed it 41% of the time. The number of successful pass attempts made by Canada was 523, and they only took six corner kicks. Canada’s completion percentage for passes was 86%. On the other side, Morocco only completed 373 passes, had a pass accuracy of 79%, and only awarded two corner kicks. Despite Canada’s superior play in terms of possession, highest passes, and corners, they were unable to score any goals, which led to their team’s loss of the match. On the other hand, Morocco had less scoring opportunities than Canada did, but they made the most of the ones they did have and scored goals, which ultimately led to their being declared the victor of the Group Stage. When it’s all said and done, the only thing that matters is who scored the most goals to win the match.

Morocco’s players celebrate after winning the match against Canada.

The Moroccan national team was responsible for all three of the goals that were scored in this encounter. The whole scoring was accomplished in the first half of the match. The Moroccans took an early lead over the Canadians as they scored a goal just four minutes into the match. This marked the beginning of their dominance. It was Hakim Ziyech of Morocco who was responsible for scoring this incredible goal. They continued to score goals even after they were behind. After Hakim scored the first goal for Morocco, Youssef En-Nesyri scored the second goal for Morocco 23 minutes into the match. At that time, the score was 2-0 in favor of the away team. An unfortunate tragedy occurred here around the 40-minute mark of the game when Morocco’s defender Nayef Aguerd scored an own goal while he was attempting to defend the ball. This time, Canada had a goal, and the score was tied at 2-1 when the first half came to a close.

In the second half, neither team was able to score another goal, despite Canada’s several attempts to do so. However, they were unable to do so due to the strong defensive play of Morocco. Spectating the match was a really enjoyable experience. Morocco emerged victorious from the contest with a 2-1 advantage in goals.

After winning all three of their matches, Morocco has climbed to the top of the point table for Group F, where they now hold the lead with 7 points. They were victorious in two of their matches and tied in one of their contests. They have yet to suffer their first defeat in this World Cup matches they have competed in thus far. Croatia now sits in second place with 5 points after their three matches, which puts them in a winning position. They were victorious in one of the matches, while they tied in the other two.
