The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Arizona Cardinals 44-21 in the opening season.

In the first game of the new NFL season 2022, which took place on Sunday afternoon at University of Phoenix Stadium, Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to a dominating 44-21 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. During this game, Mahomes threw for 360 yards, scored 5 touchdowns, and completed 30 of 39 passes.

Mahomes was helped out by Travis Kelce, who had a fantastic game with 8 receptions for 121 yards. Kelce’s reception of 9 yards in the first quarter led to the Chiefs’ first touchdown of the game. Pacheco, Hardman, Jody Fortson, and RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire were the others that scored touchdowns for the Chiefs in addition to Patrick Mahomes and Kelce. During this game, Edwards scored two touchdowns.

By scoring five touchdowns in this game, Patrick Mahomes cemented his place in the annals of NFL history. He is one of only six players in the history of the NFL game to have scored the five touchdowns. Before Mahomes, quarterbacks Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, and Dan Marino all finished games with five touchdowns.

Even though Kyler Murray completed 22 of 34 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns for the Cardinals during their game against the Chiefs, the Cardinals were still unable to come away with the victory. Conner, Brown, and Zach all scored one touchdown each in this game.

The game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers is scheduled to take place at Arrowhead Stadium on September 16, Friday at 6.15 in the morning.
